Consult with me (optional)

Contact me to schedule a free consultation here, by phone, or by email.

Your free consultation will be held virtually or over the phone. This is an excellent time to express your concerns, describe your potential goals for therapy, and to get a better idea if I would be a good fit for you.

2

Schedule an evaluation

Contact me to schedule here, by phone, or by email. Please include your scheduling constraints. I will respond to you.

We will discuss your speech and language concerns (review and discuss more in-depth if you had a consultation). If I will be meeting your child, it is beneficial to learn about their interests and how I can make them as comfortable as possible.

Evaluations can be completed virtually. We can talk about what is needed to complete a successful evaluation via teletherapy.

I will also send you forms to support the evaluation (e.g. questionnaires, requests for work samples, Release of Information requests for schools, etc.). Forms completed prior to the evaluation session ensure that the evaluation can be completed in the allotted time.

3

Complete the evaluation

An evaluation typically includes interviews/questionnaires, informal observations, and administration of standardized assessments. Most evaluations take anywhere from 45 minutes up to 90 minutes.

I will analyze all evaluation materials following the appointment in order to appropriately judge if therapy is necessary.

A report will be sent to you clearly outlining results and will provide analysis, recommendations, and ideas for possible therapy goals.

I will always be available to discuss the evaluation, even if it has been determined that an individual would not benefit from therapy.

4

Schedule therapy sessions

If the need for therapy has been established, we will work together to schedule therapy sessions. My goal is to provide convenient access to therapy.

Therapy session length will depend on client need and input from the client/family.

5

Begin therapy

Speech-language therapy works the best when the client/family is also committed. I will devote time in each session to communicate with you. We can discuss progress and the likely course of therapy, the rationale for what was done during the session, ideas for at-home practice, and I will always listen to your input.

6

Ongoing therapy

Therapy is a process; it is also always my goal to support clients in making the most progress in the shortest amount of time.

I will consistently assess progress and think critically about the effectiveness of the therapy approaches being used.

I am motivated by helping clients meet their goals and reach confident independence. With collaboration, we will decide when therapy can be discontinued (yay!).

Many clinical areas within speech and language benefit from ongoing support. Once you begin therapy with me, you are a part of my community. You will always know where to find me if concerns arise in the future.
